- 1. Evaluate why your jelly didn't set in the first placeIn this module, we will go though what makes jelly set in the first place, the scientific properties of jelly setting. We'll discuss the 4 reasons your didn't set, we'll ask the #1 question you should always ask if you encounter runny jelly, and what to do with runny jelly and why re-set jelly is a better value!4
- 2. Empty jars into tall pot and re-process on stoveIn this module, we will go through the process of emptying your jars back into the tall pot and re-processing them on the stove!6
- 2.1Empty jars into tall pot on stove and why you want to use a tall pot.1 Minute
- 2.2Add 1/2 – 1 c. sugar and bring to a boil that cannot be stirred down, hold for 1-2 minutes.2 Minutes
- 2.3Add 1 pouch liquid pectin or 1 pouch powdered pectin in the order in which they were added originally.1 Minute
- 2.4Let cool for 5-10 minutes to let any foam simmer down. Skim off foam.2 Minutes
- 2.5Wait until plane of jelly is even more set, wipe rims with water, place lids and rings finger-tight. Label jars!2 Minutes
- 2.6If jelly is not perfectly-set, check in 24 hours that jelly is set. Process within a week.2 Minutes
